Shipping Guide
Shipping Perishable Products
Warm Weather Months
During warm Spring and Summer months (May - October) we use thermal insulation and ice packs to keep the products cool as long as possible and label the shipping box accordingly. You may encounter higher shipping rates during this period to account for costs associated with expedited shipping and frozen gel packs.
Shipping & Delivery
During warm-temperature months, we ship heat-sensitive products only on Mondays and Tuesdays to areas West of the Mississippi, and the South. For destinations that are 1-2 days away from Greenville, NC, we also will ship on Wednesdays. Regretfully we have no control over the shipping process. Ground shipments may get delayed and guaranteed delivery shipments may arrive late during the day. Perishable orders cannot sit out on the porch, so the recipient should not leave the package out once delivered.
Heat Sensitive Products (Chocolate and Candy)
We ship heat-sensitive products (chocolates) all year long and use thermal insulation and ice during the Summer season (May to October) when or where temperatures exceed 75°F. Boxes are labeled accordingly. You may encounter higher shipping rates for heat-sensitive items during this period. In some cases, chocolate products may arrive melted. Melted chocolates are still safe to eat and can be frozen.
Glass and Liquid Products
At this time we can not ship large quantities of glass and liquid products. These items have a tendency to be damaged in transit. Orders containing glass or liquids will be reviewed on a case by case basis and shipped as we deem safe and acceptable. In the event that we are unable to ship an order for reasons stated above, the order will be refunded back to the original form of payment.
Baked Goods
Because we cannot control how the packages are handled by postal carriers, therefore cannot take guarantee refunds for broken cookies, crackers, and other breakable baked or otherwise, items. Claims will must include photo evidence of damage and will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Purchaser understands these risks.
Severe Weather Situations
In the event Hurricanes, blizzards, severe thunderstorms we may delay shipments to the affected regions until the weather has normalized to prevent damaged product.
Wine & Alcohol
Wine and Alcohol products must be shipped via UPS and therefore will carry an additional fee for orders under $80.00
