La Gerla Sangiovese, Poggio Gli Angeli Montalcino 2022 750ml

This 100% sangiovese is made from young vines in Castelnuovo (in the Brunello zone but not designated as such) and undergoes the same selection and vinification as the estate’s renowned Brunellos, with the difference being the aging: “Poggio gli Angeli” is aged for just four months in large Slavonian oak barrels, then two months in bottle. A core of fleshy red cherry yields layers of ripe tomato, baking spice, and earth with satisfying texture and bright acidity. A must-try for Chianti lovers, or for anyone looking for a classically-styled, food-friendly value! Organically grown.
